Biography

Mona Li is an eleventh-grade student in the Arts Canterbury Visual Arts Program at Canterbury High School, Ottawa.

She has loved drawing since the age of one, and has entered competitions from the age of six. Though never having taken regular, formal art lessons outside of school, Mona grew up  drawing on her own. Arts Canterbury has allowed her to grow significantly as an artist in the last four years; art has become a non-negligible part of her life.

She is currently illustrating a children’s book for Ottawa author Kathy Champagne.

Mona is a member Century Events Planning Inc., the non-profit organization responsible for organizing the Annual Ottawa Night Market. At Canterbury, she is a member of the Student Council Media Committee and Free the Children. She also studies classical singing, performing competitively at municipal and provincial levels, and plays badminton.
